For some of us, June 4 marks one of the most important holidays in the history of the world. We're talking, of course, about National Hug Your Cat Day. In days gone by, you might’ve had difficulty distributing your hugs and chin scratches throughout the day.
Thanks to the rise of “work from home,” planning your day around purr-fect moments isn’t as hard as it used to be. It's likely you're not spending as much time in an office. According to Global Workplace Analytics, WFH numbers have shot up by 80 percent since 2005.
There's a simple reason for this explosive growth: Working from home works. As one Stanford-based experiment found, WFH boosts worker productivity by 20 to 30 percent and saves employee costs across the board. But the great thing about WFH is that it doesn't only make you a better worker, it also gives you more time to spend with your cat. And so, in honor of this momentous holiday on June 4, we're going to highlight all the amazing things (in addition to hugging) that you can do with your cat during brief breaks from work when you clock in from home.
How have WFH and office technology – like hosted VoIP phone systems with unified communications (of course) – helped you balance your work and home life? Tell us in the comments!
